New Tradition

At Jamie's brilliant suggestion, we have now enacted a new tradition! Sunday Family Dinners! The plan is for Jamie and Joe (and their eventual offspring) to join us and our assorted kiddos for a delicious potluck supper each Sunday evening. Because we were still mired in boxes for the kickoff of this event, Jamie and Joe provided the inaugural dinner: delicious cheeseburgers! Thanks for the yumminess, guys! Next week, dinner's on us!

Extreme Makeover: Desktop Edition

My desktop is in need of an extreme makeover! Does anyone else have this problem?

Autumn, being herself.

Sometimes my favorite pictures of children are the ones where they don't even realize they're being photographed.

Pink Papaya

Haircuts at the Pink Papaya have always come with free smoothies. Now they apparently also come with free attitude.

Busy busy busy!

Hello world! We have been a bit insane the past week or so, what with our little jaunt to Dallas and the relocation of all our worldly goods! I was feeling really upbeat about it at the beginning, but now I am to the point where I just want to say, "Why me?" and give up and just abandon the rest of our stuff and burn the old house down and be done with it. (By the way, I am completely kidding about this, and in the event that any sort of fire or destructive event happens at the other house, whether by arson or accident, I had absolutely nothing to do with it!)

Seriously, though, we are LOVING the new house. Every time I walk into the kitchen I get this warm, cozy feeling like I just want to go hug someone. So most of the time I do, and then I throw the windows open and enjoy the breeze as I unpack and organize! Whenever I'm here I feel like I'm on vacation, and it makes me rather want to drink a pina colada or snowboard or something. Not a bad feeling! But what with all of this working, hugging and dreaming of faraway locales, I have not had much time for internet-y pursuits such as blogging, Facebooking or commenting anywhere. At first this was mostly because we didn't have computers at the old house, and we didn't have internet at the new house. That, however, has been remedied and yet still, not much time for media!

Tonight we are taking a brief respite from the moving madness to go on a date! We wanted to go use the PF Chang's gift certificate we got from the Roses/Brewers (THANK YOU SO MUCH, BY THE WAY!!!) but we decided to save that for a time when we can enjoy a whole evening of relaxation rather than tonight, when we're squeezing date night in between trips back and forth and carrying gigantic boxes of dishes and canned goods up and down what seems like about a hundred flights of stairs. I've been too busy to get to the gym, but I think this moving business must be doing some good, because I have lost two pounds since we left for Dallas... I guess those stupid stairs over at Rockcliff are good for something after all! : )

So date night tonight, then more moving, then we will be hitting up Body Attack at FAC tomorrow morning, then more moving, then Jason is going to go shoot a wedding in Eureka tomorrow... I think that while he is gone, Miss Norah and I will relax here at the new, happy, vacation-y house and catch up on blogging! We have lots of fun pictures to go through, including ones of the new house and some of Autumn and Bear with their fancy new haircuts. Check back soon for those, and in the meantime, I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

I leave you with the only picture I have edited in about a week now (egads!), which has nothing to do with anything I just posted about. : )

Enjoy!
