Trimming the Hedges

I decided to play Garden Woman today and go outside to trim the bushes with Joe's fancy power hedge clippers. It turns out they work great! They even cut through extension cords.

Oops.

Looks like I will be making a trip to Home Depot! Sorry Joe!

Six Flags Over Us!!!

We had a blast at Six Flags Over Texas on Tuesday and Wednesday! Here is a little slideshow of snapshots I put together, just for fun! All images were taken by Jamie, Kori, Jason, Autumn and Barrett on our handy-dandy point-and-shoots and/or iPhones! Just click on the picture to start the slideshow. Happy Spring Break everyone! : )

My Darling, Soaking Wet Baby!

My dear little Norah is so precious, cuddly and sweet, but goodness, does she ever spit up! My mom calls her little "Sue." (As in, Mount Ve"Sue"vius!) It seems that wherever we go, we leave a trail of goo behind us. This translates into a lot of bibs, burp cloths and outfit changes (for all of us!). Add in the new drooling from the teething, and you have one soaking wet baby. But we don't mind, because we just love her to bits!

Jason snapped these of her hanging out in her Bumbo chair this morning. I considered trying to Photoshop out the spitup, but then I decided that it was even more "her" just to leave it in! Plus, she was wearing this adorable outfit we borrowed from baby Maye, so it would have been difficult to remove the spitup with all the stripes. : ) Isn't she precious anyway!

Jay the J-Man Viking!

He hates when I call him that! It wasn't his radio name when he was a DJ, but I really like to pretend that it was. : ) Anyway, I ran across a song that I just love today while in search of new music for the wedding site, and I thought I would share it here! It's called "Falling In Love at a Coffee Shop" by Landon Pigg, and it is available on iTunes!

It is very sweet, and even though we did not fall in love at a coffee shop, it made me think of Jason. I rather like him. : ) It is very fun to be in love with your best friend! I have an app on my iPhone that tells how long we've been married, and it has now been 2 years, 8 months, 8 hours and 7 minutes, give or take. : ) It's flown by, because apparently time really does fly when you're having fun! Thanks for being so cool, babe!

What a Weekend!

Well, the moving sale was a huge success. After pulling my first all-nighter in years with Jason and Dad (complete with a 4:30a.m. trip to the Uber-Delicious Waffle House of Joy), we drove up to the old house to set up for the sale, and discovered that 21 cars or so had beaten us to the punch! There was already a line formed down the front stairs and into the driveway! I found it a little bizarre that quite so many people were interested in all our old junk, but I was SO glad to be rid of it.

Get this- we sold EVERY LAST THING. I even had someone try to buy my baggie of Sharpies and the can of Pledge I had used to clean the table off with. We had way more "stuff" than we needed, and I just can't tell you how refreshing it is to be rid of it! A big "Thank you" to Mom, Dad, Jamie and Joe for all of their help getting ready and executing the sale. We couldn't have done it without them!

Also, it turns out my dad is quite the salesman. I was joking with Jamie today that I think he could have sold rocks from the yard, he was so good. She pointed out that he did, in fact, sell a rock from his truck! He had apparently pulled some random fossil out from under the seat of his truck partway through the sale and someone actually bought it! Way to go, Daddy!

All we have to now is go clean the place and finish a little more unpacking, and we will be done with this moving business. I can't wait! I just want to feel all cozy and settled again.

We also had a fun day today. After 12 and a half hours of glorious sleep, we went and took advantage of our 30% off coupons at Gap to buy a few spring clothes for the kiddos, including Easter dresses (yay!), and then came back here to the house for our second Sunday Family Dinner! Joe had an idea to create homemade pizzas, and they were SO good. Unfortunately, we were too busy devouring them to remember to take any pictures, but let me tell you, they were great! Piled high with toppings and quite delicious! Jason did snap these along the way, though. Oh, and apparently I was wearing the same exact outfit I wore last Sunday. What can I say? It's cozy, and easy to nurse in. Don't judge me! : )

I have been getting to spend a lot of time with my family lately, and it has been making me realize how lucky I am to have them all in my life. I love you guys! Thanks for everything!

My Sister the Model!

Jamie dropped by the other day for a quick photoshoot in the back yard! I wanted to play with a lighting setup I was trying out. My friend Brooke's husband, Finley, drove by in the middle of it and possibly thought we were all insane. We had dragged studio lights out into the back yard, Barrett was barefoot, complaining that his feet were dirty, Jason was holding a flash stand and a baby, and I was in my pajamas standing in a red wagon (don't ask). I'm sure we were making quite a scene, but I love the way the pictures came out. My sister is such a fun little model!
