Big Plans!

Autumn is having a friend over to spend the night tonight, and I just ran across this list of their planned activities for the evening:

1. Dress up
2. Put on makeup.
3. Jewelry and hair supplies
4. Bug Barrett and Norah
5. Eat snacks
6. Make up cheer
7. Try to stay up all night!!!
8. Spy on Bear
9. Maybe cut Barbie's hair
10. Art
11. Scare Barrett
12. Play dentist
13. Pancakes

Mind you, this is all planned for AFTER they attend tonight's Fayetteville Homecoming Parade and football game. I get the feeling I might be in for quite an evening! : )

Brace Face!

Autumn got braces! Somehow they seem to only make her even cuter... We're going out to take some "real" pictures this weekend, but for now here is an iPhone photo before and after!

Also, a shoutout to Storms Orthodontics, who not only made the process quick and (relatively) painless for her, but also signed on as a sponsor for the 2010-2011 cheer season at PCA! Thanks so much! We appreciate you!

Costume Party!

I love it when we get to use the kids as models! Here they are for a recent Celebrate shoot. To find out how Jena, the creative director, made the costumes, visit the Celebrate blog!

So stinkin' cute!

I have a confession to make.

While I'm nursing the baby, I frequently play the online version of The Price is Right on Facebook. And when I play the online version of The Price is Right on Facebook, I frequently cheat.

Yes, that is an extremely detailed, 9-page, single-spaced, cross-referenced list of items up for bid you see on the right there. In alphabetical order. My high score for a single game is $116,230.

What's wrong with me!?!

Motivational Monday - 10/04/10 Edition

From the "Inspiration" file on my iPhone, here's a thought that helps keep me going in the right direction!

Every day you have a choice. Just make good choices!

School Days!

I always love opening up the crinkly school picture envelope from Lifetouch... You just never know what will be inside! : ) Thankfully, it is hard to take a terribly bad picture of Autumn or Bear. They're awfully good-looking little people! Here are their pictures for 1st grade (Bear) and 3rd grade (Autumn):

My babies are growing up!

Happy October! Complete with New Goals!

First of all, in case you didn't know, October is my very favorite month! The sun is shining, the leaves are changing and Christmas is just around the corner. It doesn't get any better than that! : )

So anyway, here's how the month of September went!

In the month of September, I exercised for 1,200 minutes, or exactly 20 hours! I stayed an extra 5 minutes at the gym yesterday to even out that stat! : )

I am very proud of myself for getting to the gym even on days when I absolutely did not feel like it. I am confident that all of this hard work will pay off in the end! It is already paying off, in fact. I feel so much better, and I can do so much more than I could when I started back. The muscles in my body are becoming stronger and more responsive, and I don't get nearly as tired during the workouts as I did at first. I feel like I am slowly (but very surely) getting back to my old self! So here's the lowdown on what I've lost so far.

Start date: August 16
Starting weight: 157 Weight as of 09/27/10: 152.8
Pounds lost in first 6 weeks: 4.2
Pounds per week lost: .7
Inches lost on waist: 2

Seeing all that written out makes me happy! I am hoping to lose between a half a pound and a pound a week steadily until I reach my goal. It's still a long way off, but I know I'll get there! With weight loss, slow and steady really does win the race, especially when you're breastfeeding. So far so good!

So now on to my new goals. I am going to stick with the 1800 calories, but I think I'm ready to bump up the workout goals a little. For the month of October, I am going to aim to do 1 Attack or Combat class per week, 1 Pump class per week, and 2 free days of at least 30 minutes of intentional exercise apiece. I'm so ready to be back in my jeans! Patience and persistence will get me there. One day at a time!
