You know what would be a good idea? Let's wait until the very middle of wedding season when I'm 7 months pregnant, during the exact two weeks that the doctor has suggested modified bed rest to further prevent having this baby before 30 weeks, and let's MOVE. How's that for genius???
Clearly we were not thinking ahead very well on this one. Wish us luck! It's going to be a heck of a week!

Praying for Cohen!!

I had mentioned a couple of months ago that one of our 2006 couples, the lovely Megan and Brent, needed some serious prayers. I am lifting them up again here and now, because they are on the journey of a lifetime, and they could use all the help they can get! They were blessed today by the birth of their beautiful baby boy, Cohen, but he has a long, tough road ahead of him due to a series of congenital heart defects.
They are very thankful that he was born kicking and screaming, but at just a few hours old, he is already having to undergo a heart catheterization to be evaluated for his first surgery. This new little family could really use some prayers, love and support right now!
A fund has been set up to assist the family with his medical bills and expenses, which are expected to be astronomical. Any donation is greatly appreciated, as are all well wishes and prayers. You can read Cohen's story on Megan's blog by clicking here. You can also get updates on Cohen's current condition and contribute to his heart fund by clicking here.
Congratulations, Megan and Brent! We're praying for you guys!

Sock Hop and Ice Cream Social!
We really, really love our elementary school. It reminds me of something out of a movie, with tons of old-school activities like talent shows, sock hops and ice cream socials. The kids love it, and I think it is just too cute! Here are a few photos from the sock hop/ice cream social. Autumn and Bear had such a blast! Here are some photos from the evening.

They had a DJ come and invited the kids to make requests. Bear put down "Living on a Prayer." I love that kid!

Autumn jumped right into the crowd of kids and started dancing as soon as we got there, but Bear hung back a bit at first because he was nervous. He hugged my leg really tight and said, "Well, it's just kind of like High School Musical, and I'm not really used to that." It was precious! He eventually jumped right in. Literally!

After dancing and ice cream sundaes, the kids headed out on the playground to play.

For the event's grand finale, the 2 classes that raised the most cans during the food drive got to throw pies in the faces of their teachers... They LOVED it!

And on a side note, it appears that Autumn's cheerleading workouts must be paying off. She did more sit ups in one minute than any other kid in the school, even the boys! Way to go!

Waiting for Shiloh - 26 weeks
Little Shiloh is 26 weeks and growing strong! I am starting to feel a little like I am running out of room, but I think it's just because he's carrying so high. He's also VERY VERY active, and I am enjoying every kick! Here are a few "26 weeks" photos...

We have several really fun ideas we're going to be trying out over the next few weeks as my belly gets a little larger as well. Keep an eye out for some involving popsicles and a kiddie pool... They ought to be fun! : )

Our precious boy!
In this case, my impatience paid off! We headed down to Roland last night to get a peek at baby Shiloh, and it was worth every minute of the drive to see his precious little face! He was awake the whole time, kicking all over the place and wiggling around, so it was a little hard to get him to pose, but we got several shots we really liked anyway! He is still definitely a boy, and a beautiful one at that... Check it out!

Here he is with his hand swiping his face...

We can't wait to see him in person!

And on a side note... We're pretty sure he looks exactly like his big sister! What do you think?

Impatience is not a virtue.
But I seem to have loads of it. I am just absolutely DYING to know what this little baby looks like! I have "ultrasound fever" at the moment, and am so frustrated with the silly What's Kickin' people for not answering their phones that I am oh-so-tempted to drive down to Roland, Oklahoma, to Heavenly Imaging to just have one done there because it is KILLING ME to wait another minute to peek at this baby!
The only thing keeping me in my chair at this moment is that Jason insists he has work to do and that it won't actually kill us to wait a couple of hours until the Bentonville people answer their phone. Were I not too embarrassed to drive to Roland and request a 4D ultrasound by myself, I would probably already be on the road.
Why does he have to go and be a voice of reason? I like my irrational instant-gratification theory much better.
*sigh
