All Wet!

Shiloh's umbilical cord FINALLY fell off (much to Bear's amazement, he now has a "real" belly button!), so yesterday he got to get in the tub and have his very first real bath! We used the same tub we had with Norah, which I absolutely love.

It has a removable sling for use when the baby is extra tiny, and I must say, this feature has made bathing these last two newborns much easier than it was with my older two! (With Autumn, her first bath took 3 people plus a videographer to accomplish, and we still almost managed to drown the poor child!) When the baby is itty bitty, you just fill the tub all the way up with nice, warm water and then set the baby in the sling to rest for the duration of the bath. It cradles their tiny little bodies in just the right amount of water so that they are nice and warm and stable the whole time instead of cold and wet and slipping all over the place while you try to bathe them without dropping them in! Perfect!

I usually put a warm washcloth on the baby's belly while I'm working so that they stay even more comfortable. Shiloh thought it was so cozy that he fell right to sleep! : )

The sling detaches for later use as a standard baby tub. It's a handy little setup! I'm not sure if they make this exact one any more, but I found what I think is the current version on the Target website. I love it!

  1. So cute! I have the exact same tub and love it too :) I can't believe he fell asleep, that is too sweet! Ayden screamed through his first several baths!
